The constant battle over hair brushing. If you’re a #girlmom you may know what I’m talking about. With my daughter, it is a daily struggle to brush her hair. My boyfriend’s daughter is old enough to brush her own but she constantly only brushes the top, leaving the underside a matted mess – yuck and ouch!

The one thing that I have found that helps is hair detangler. They go through a bottle of it very quickly, and I also like to know exactly what is in the products I’m using so I make my own. I love this recipe because it’s super quick and easy to make (no long DIYs for this mama) and only takes a handful of ingredients.

First, you’ll need a spray bottle. I really like
these pretty blue cobalt 4oz, glass bottles from Amazon. Glass is perfect for this recipe since I like to use essential oils to help keep their hair looking clean and healthy between washes, and to help keep the critters away that get passed head to head when school is in session. You know the ones I’m talking about.

Ingredients/Supplies:
  • 4oz Spray bottle
  • Hair Conditioner. I use the copaiba vanilla from Young Living
  • Kidscents sleepyize essential oil blend
  • Cedarwood essential oil
  • Bonus: Rosemary essential oil
Steps:
  1. Add a squirt (a half tablespoon or so if you like to measure) of conditioner to the spray bottle.
  2. Add 4 drops of sleepyize essential oil.
  3. Add 3 drops cedarwood
  4. Optional: add 2 drops rosemary essential oil
  5. Fill the rest with warm water.
  6. Put the top on and mix gently by inverting the bottle back and forth.

My girls love this detangler, and I hope yours do too!
